I miss your wet nose and your silly chicken legs

I miss you on our walks and how you smelled every flower

I miss you on the couch when I’m watching TV

I miss you in my car and how you drooled on the windows

I miss you at work when you hugged everyone you saw

I miss you when I unlock the door and you’re not there to see me

I miss you licking crumbs that I dropped everywhere.

I miss you when I’m crying and you’re not there to lick my tears

I even miss cleaning up the messes you made

And I’d do it every day just to have you back home again.
